How to add your Accommodation Types

Okay here we are on the accommodation types page.
Now, this is the backbone of your entire booking system.
What we’re going to do here,
is we’re going to define each type of unit you have available for for rent, each type of room, each type of cottage,
each type of house, whatever you’re renting each type.
So for example, here I have a three bedroom cottage and a two bedroom cottage.
I may have 10, 2 bedroom cottages and 5, 3 bedroom cottages, but I’m only listing them each here once because once we define each of these,
then we will be able to tell the system how many of each we have.
So let’s go into the three bedroom cottage.
Alright. And what you want to do here, just go through the fields.
It’s pretty simple. You’re going to fill in a name, then you’re going to skip down to accommodation type details,
fill in the description and address.
Now the address is pretty important because this is what is going to allow us on the booking PEI site
to map your listings.
So even though every single one of your units might have the same address, it’s possible they might not.
So we put this field in here so that you can give us the exact address for the map.
And then when somebody goes to booking PEI And they search for cottages from this date to this date.
We are going to return results for available units
within those dates and they’re going to show up on a map.
So then people who are looking for accommodations on a specific part of the island are going to be able to zero right in on where they want to stay and what’s available.
So this is important.
All right, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms and your gallery.
So you can put a gallery of images with each with each unit.
And all you need to do to add to the gallery is just click this add to gallery button and let’s say I want to add this image, this image and this image. Just click them all.
You can see they all got a check mark.
And then I’m going to say select now, I don’t want to add those. So I’m going to click this X.
And get out of the of the menu again, if you want to upload images,
just go into the gallery, click upload files,
click select files and go navigate to where they are.
Or just drag them onto the screen.
All right. So I’m going to accept that because I’m not doing that either.
All right now this generate accommodations is exactly what I was talking about Assigning this unit type to 20 units etc. But I’m going to come back here.
So let’s go to capacity number of adults, number of Children. If it’s relevant for you how many adults the units suits how many Children then you can fill that in here.
What’s most important is the capacity.
So the total number of people who who you will put in that unit.
And then also if you wish to display the size of your unit in square feet just enter it here.
Okay this section available services.
These are your a la carte services.
So I’ve just I’ve put examples in here.
You can just delete the ones you don’t want or all of them and add ones that are relevant to you.
The nice thing about these services is they’ll come up on the checkout form for the for the person booking your unit and then they’ll be able to say yes I have pets. Um So that’s going to be $15 a day per accommodation.
So
and that’s something that’s allowed in this unit.
So I’m going to say these are the things that this unit can come with.
Then these things will show up on the checkout farm for the person booking the unit.
We’re going to do a separate video showing you how to add or remove services.
Now let’s scroll to the top of the page and look at the sidebar, there’s some more information.
So post attributes order.
If you want to change the order of your listings on your page.
So when when people go to your site and they look at all your accommodations they’re going to show up in a certain order.
one above the other.
So
if maybe you want luxury three bedroom cottages to show first then make it order one and then the two bedroom cottages will be order two.
Okay, so that’s when if you need to override the default okay, attributes type amenities region.
So what type of unit is it?
Pick one of these? I guess some of them could be more than one.
But the point is you need to pick one of these.
This is how people are going to search on the available units from the Booking PEI site.
Okay. What amenities do you offer?
These are the options we have.
Now if there’s something missing here that you would like to be able to list, then just get in touch with us and we we will discuss it and we’ll add it to the list.
And then of course your region, your tourism region on PEI.
So pick which one this unit belongs in.
Okay, accommodation reviews.
We are adding the ability for people to submit reviews on your units.
So it’s it’s not live yet but it’s going to be soon.
And this is that’s where they’ll live.
Okay. And featured image.
So this is the main image that you want to show when people see a listing for your accommodation type, what does it look like? What’s the best image you have to to show people what it looks like.
That’s what image is going to go here.
So
if I want to alter the image that’s there.
I can just click on the image, it’s going to bring up the same media library interface.
It’s funny that it’s just showing me one.
Let’s click remove featured image and now we’ll click set featured image.
That’s funny
set featured image. That should be showing all the images in my media library.
But because I’m recording my screen, I think that might be interfering. So I’m just going to select that image again because that’s the right one set featured image.
Now I’ve made changes on here.
So what I want to do is say update.
